LLEIDA RANCHERS PROMOTES THE OPENING OF A SLURRY TREATEMENT PLANT THE PLANT WILL BE OPERATIONAL BY THE END OF THE YEAR The association Gestió Ramadera de Ponent (GAP), which manages the slurry of Lleida region of Les Garrigues, announced last October reopening of one of these plants later this year, following the closure of all plants purines cogeneration was in Spain, representing a rise of slurry management. Since the GAP became the property of the plant, it has carried out various actions to manage the manure. First, it works to reopen this space; then, it has given a catchment area in which to apply manure and maximize logistics; likewise, the GAP wants to expand this radius, so that studies installing different mobile and fixed rafts in more remote farms, the slurry in carrying trailer to reduce costs. As Eduard Cau, President of GAP, explained the economic purpose of the plant is generating light from biogas from manure, fertilizer manufacturing high quality and treatment of municipal waste in the districts of Les Garrigues and Pla d'Urgell. The reopening of this space represents a total investment of 16 million euros, in May and which will go to the construction of a new plant of triage and 4 billion debt to pay retroactively the plant has with the state.
